Gratitude to a Caring Community

FROM THE LEADERSHIP OF THE RIDGEFIELD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Day-to-day, week-to-week, the members of the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department focus on responding when Help Can’t Wait. Our volunteers work with our neighbors during their darkest moments—whether it is an evening chimney fire, a commuting hour car accident, or an ice rescue. As you would expect, our training must focus on these and other emergency responses—and it does.

But we pause from the day-to-day this thanksgiving season and write in the spirit of gratitude. We take a moment to thank our volunteers and to thank you—our neighbors—the individuals, families and local businesses who financially support the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department’s life-saving mission.

The department recently launched its Annual Year-End Fund Drive, our largest source of donations. The community’s response has been generous. It is because of our community’s generosity, that those who face their darkest moments during an emergency can depend on our trained volunteers to respond with skill and compassion to help guide them through their emergency—indeed, your donations enable us to respond.

Our donors tell us how much they appreciate the almost 60 volunteer members of our department who responded at all hours when Help Can’t Wait.  As Chief and President of the volunteer department, we too salute our volunteer members—those who have served our Town for decades and those newer members who serve our community.

Importantly, we give sincere thanks to the paid members of the Ridgefield Fire Department, new Chiefs Rommie Duckworth and Tony Cerulli, and to our town’s police officers for their dedicated service; we value and appreciate your partnership in public safety.

On behalf of the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department— and those we serve—thank you.

From our family to yours, we wish you a wonderful and safe holiday season.

SINCERELY,
TIM PAMBIANCHI, CHIEF
Fernando Rivadeneira, President
